Decision Support System
Policy Committee

The purpose of this committee is to guide policy for development and implementation of the Decision Support System for Justice (DSS-Justice). Acting on behalf of the Public Safety Council Executive Committee, the Policy Committee:

• reviews the DSS-Justice budget and make recommendations to the Public Safety Council Chair
  
  
• approves the creation of working committees for DSS-Justice, and
  
  
• reviews and has authority over policies of the DSS.

The Policy Committee works closely with the DSS Security Committee comprised of representatives from agencies that are key contributors of data to the system. The DSS Security Group

• produces a DSS Justice Security Policy
  
  
• defines access restrictions for DSS-Justice data, and
  
  
• approves access to DSS-Justice and its related data.
